“The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living…The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair.”
Psalms 19:7-9
On January 11, I walked through the door of the counseling center, a broken woman. As a child, I tried to do my chores perfectly. As a believer, I tried to read the Bible and pray perfectly. As a student, I tried to get perfect grades. As an adult, I tried to be a perfect neighbor. But as a pastor’s wife, I tried to talk to everyone, listen to everyone’s problems, fix everyone’s problems, and always look perfect!
A few days prior I’d penned, “I don’t see hope. It looks too hard to change.” Now, here I stood, totally exhausted, asking for help. BUT, that very morning I “just happened” to read Psalm 19. The woman who had tried all her life to be perfect, the woman who had failed so miserably she was soul weary—THAT woman found hope: “The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul!”
I had no idea the miracles my Father was about to perform IN me, but that morning He announced the curriculum! Throughout that entire course, I was amazed to watch God’s Word change ME! Step by step His Word gave me wisdom and insight to LIVE differently and added great joy in the process!
Can the Word of God change your life? I have absolutely no doubt—
HIS Word is perfect—absolutely perfect!
