“No Walls too Strong!”

“The Lord our God also helped us conquer Aroer…and the town in the gorge, and the whole area as far as Gilead. No town had walls too strong for us.”

Deuteronomy 2:36

When Moses reported that no town had walls too strong for us, I immediately thought of how the ten spies described those same walls after their scouting trip as walls rising high into the sky! However, their fearful view omitted the most important part of the equation, one Moses revealed here…the Lord our God helped us!

We all see walls each day that look like they are rising to the sky…walls of fear that escalate daily through the air waves, walls of sickness that snatch lives prematurely, and walls of doubt that seem to barricade our loved ones from relationship with God. We too feel afraid when we forget the role of the Lord OUR God.

Perhaps it would encourage us to remember some of the walls our God has already toppled…He broke down the walls of a Philistine stronghold ( 2Chron. 26:6), He leveled to the ground the thick walls of Babylon (Jer. 51:58), and suddenly made the walls of Jericho collapse! (Josh. 6:20) Each wall God destroyed was out of love for HIS people.

Remembering what God HAS done gives us faith for what He WILL do. God’s power is still the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, we can KNOW that even TODAY…

There is NO wall too strong…when GOD helps us!
