“At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the LORD caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves…So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, all they saw were dead bodies lying on the ground as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped!”
2 Chronicles 20:22, 24 NLT
I love that phrase, at the very moment. WHEN? At the exact same time God’s people began to sing and praise, the LORD caused a miracle to take place. The people of Judah did not know what was transpiring up ahead—they simply kept moving forward by faith and praising God by faith. They did not SEE the miracle until they arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness.
What a lesson for those of us who want to see some evidence before we move and wait to praise until we see. Notice, the Lord began His miracle for Judah BEFORE they could see, but He did not begin His miracle BEFORE He heard their faith.
Also notice the lookout point was IN the wilderness. Judah had to keep moving through that wilderness by faith until they arrived at the lookout point that was already there. How often do we waste valuable time and energy searching for lookout points to see what’s ahead? If we would simply keep walking by faith through what seems like a wilderness, we would finally reach GOD's intended lookout point, and THERE we would see the miracle HE already did!
So let's praise God by faith today!
At the very moment we trust, God will begin working HIS miracles IN our wilderness,
and when we arrive at HIS lookout point, we will SEE!
