“…All were destroyed. The only people who survived were Noah
and those with him in the boat.”
Genesis 7:23 NLT
The ocean liners of today have yet to offer a year-long cruise. But, as always, God was far ahead of the game. He offered Noah and his family a 12 ½ month, all-expense-paid cruise on that world’s largest boat. However, there was a vast difference in its purpose. Noah’s cruise was not about pleasure…it was about saving lives!
The only people who survived were Noah and those with him in the boat. It was never God’s plan that Noah be the only one saved by the ark. And now, more than 4,000 years after the flood, His plan has not changed.
God never intended that we cruise through life, gratifying our cravings with the world’s pleasures. Neither did He design us to waste time checking out every port to discover what makes us feel fulfilled. God’s purpose has always been for us to bring others with us on this life-saving cruise. He anticipates we will show them the joys of serving on the ship’s team, and then together save others from drowning.
Who is on your boat? All of Noah’s family were saved with him. Is yours on board? Are your neighbors and work mates there?
God, please help us keep cruising with Your purpose…not for our pleasure, but for Yours!
