“David said, ‘My son Solomon is still young and inexperienced. And since the Temple to be built for the LORD must be a magnificent structure, famous and glorious throughout the world, I will begin making preparations for it now.’ So David collected vast amounts of building materials before his death.”
1 Chronicles 22:5
David worked hard to provide materials for building the Temple, so many they could not be weighed (v 14). He used every resource at his command to gather what he could. (29:2)
I too have countless building materials at my disposal, treasures from the Word I’ve gathered throughout my life. Years ago I asked God how I could use my journals to build something for Him that would live on after my death. His answer sounded like the instructions David received—give the treasures and building plans to Solomon so HE can build a Temple for God’s Presence.
God wants me to pass on my treasures to build temples for His Presence! So, the passion of my final years has become that of David’s—work hard and prepare my treasures. I pray that the truths I write will not only inspire individuals to improve their own temple, but may they also use those treasures to build even more temples.
When David gave his personal treasures for the Temple, he invited others to follow his example, declaring to God, “We give You only what You first gave us!” (29:14) So, I invite you to join me in giving the treasures GOD has given you. Together we can build thousands of temples for God’s Presence—temples which will truly be “famous and glorious throughout the world!”
